ここでおさらいです。オーストラリアで臨床医として働くためには、Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency(AHPRA)という機関に医師登録をしなくてはなりません。日本人医師（外国人医師）がこれを果たすには、その方法として3通りあります。以下に紹介します。詳しくはAHPRAのウェブサイトをご覧ください。

① Specialist Pathway Short-Term Training (Limited Registration)
-英語試験に合格している
-自国においてすでに自身の専門分野の専門医を取得しているか、もしくは今後2年の期間を重ねればそれが取得できる位置にいる
-雇用を約束してくれている雇用主がいる
(この経路での医師登録では、限られた病院で、最大３年間という限られた期間しか働くことは許されていません)

② Standard Pathway (General Registration)
-英語試験に合格している
-AMCのPart1とPart2に合格している
-内科、外科、救急の核となる科の研修を含めた一年間のローテーションをオーストラリアの病院で修了している

③ Specialist Pathway Specialist Recognition (Specialist Registration)
-英語試験に合格している
-オーストラリアの各科のカレッジの審査で認められる

以前にも書いた通り、③は非常に難しい経路です。10年ぐらい前はオーストラリアは医師不足の状況で外国人医師の需要が高かったのですが、今はその状況は当てはまりませんから、外国人医師をオーストラリアで専門医として働けるようにすぐに認めてくれることはほぼ皆無といっていいでしょう。あなたがノーベル賞をとったような極めて高名な医師でない限りこの③にチャレンジすることはおすすめできません。私がしてしまったように時間と労力とお金を無駄にしてしまう可能性が高いです。そうなると、選択肢としては①と②しかないことになります。この2つの経路でもって、現実的に日本人医師がどうやったらオーストラリアの臨床の世界に入り込めるのかを次の記事で考えてみましょう。

-Having passed an English exam
-Having obtained a specialist qualification in your country or being in a stage were you can get the speciality in two years time in your country
-Having an employer who is willing to employ you
(Under this registration, you can only work in a certain hospital and a limited period of time which is maximum 3 years.)

② Standard Pathway (General Registration)
-Having passed an English exam
-Having passed AMC Part1 and Part2
-Having completed one year hospital rotation including core departments such as General Medicine, Surgery and Emergency Medicine.

③ Specialist Pathway Specialist Recognition (Specialist Registration)
-Having passed an English exam
-Having approved by a relevant Australian college

As I mentioned before, ③ specialist pathway specialist recognition is extremely difficult nowadays. About 10 years ago, there was a situation where even overseas doctors were needed due to workforce shortage of doctors though, that situation doesn't apply to present time. Therefore it is fair to say that there is very very slim chance for overseas doctors to be recognised as specialists to practice in Australia straightaway. So this pathway is basically not recommended to try unless you are an extremely renown doctor who got a Novel prize or else. Like I failed this pathway, you would be likely to waste your effort, time and money if you tried this. in this circumstance, there are only two ways left, ① or ②.
