After hour home visiting GP job 訪問診療の仕事

私は現在は、夜間の訪問診療の仕事をしています。GPのフェローシップを取るために、経験値を積み重ねているところです。車での年間走行距離は５万キロ、年間患者数6000人のペースで働いています。

I have been doing after hour visiting home general practitioner (GP) job. This is to accumulate my experience as a GP for its fellowship. Driving distance a year is about 50,000 kilometers and the annual number of patient is about 6000.

私の母校である慈恵医大出身でメルボルンで研究活動をしている産婦人科の竹中先生と腎臓内科の神崎先生とご家族の皆さまがブリスベンに遊びに来てくれました。１月２１日にブリスベンのスタンフォードホテルで慈恵豪州会と銘打った夕食会が開催されました。

Gynaecologist Dr Takenaka and Nephrologist Dr Kanzaki who graduated from the same medical school as me, Jikei University School of Medicine, and their families came to Brisbane from Melbourne. On 21 st January, the gathering called "Jikei-Goshukai" took place at Stamford Hotel Brisbane.

さらに日本から、新しい仲間がブリスベンにやって来ました。心臓外科医の月岡先生です。ブリスベンの病院で心臓外科のレジストラーとして働きます。すごい。がんばってほしいですね。

Another new comer has come to Brisbane. Dr Yusuke Tsukioka, a cardiac surgeon. He works as a registrar in one of Brisbane's hospitals. Fantastic. I wish him well.

Lunch with Japanese doctors in Brisbane and Gold Coast

2016年の最初。ブリスベンとゴールドコーストで奮闘する日本人医師たちでランチをしました。今年もそれぞれが一歩一歩前進していければと思います。

At the beginning of 2016, Japanese doctors in Brisbane and Gold Coast gathered together and had launch. Wishing all of us progress forward this year.

A New comer. 新しい仲間

日本からの新しい仲間がブリスベンに来ました。北海道大学消化器外科Ⅰの川俣太先生です。研究活動が目的ですが、将来的にはオーストラリアでの臨床も希望しているそうです。がんばってほしいですね。

A new comer has arrive to Brisbane. Dr Futoshi Kawamata, a general surgeon from Hokkaido University hospital. The purpose is to do research though, he also hoping to do clinical practice in Australia. I wish him well.

Work Place Base Assessment (WBA)

注目の情報ですが、AMC Part2 Clinical Examを受けなくてもGeneral Registrationを獲得できる方法があります。Work Place Base Assessment; WBAといわれている方法です。WBAは臨床研修コースです。オーストラリアの中で指定されたいくつかの病院があるのですが、このうちどれかの病院でWBAを研修して良い成績を収めればいいのです。費用は$5500、期間は6ヶ月から8ヶ月というのが一般的で、期間内に24のアセスメント（試験ではありません）を消化すればgeneral registaration に申請することが出来ます。WBAの合格率は9割を超えるといわれています。

非常に難しいAMC Part2 Clinical Examに合格しなくてもいいわけですから、WBAは魅力的な選択肢です。ただし、WBAを行うためには、これを実施している病院に雇用されなければなりません。これらの病院で働いている医師のみが、このコースを受講できます。したがって、その病院でポジションを得られるかどうかが、カギになります。


Very interesting information here. There is a way to get the general registration without passing AMC Part2 Clinical Exam. It is called "Work Place Base Assessment (WBA)". WBA is a clinical training course. There are some designated hospitals and you just need to get passing mark in WBA in one of those hospitals. Cost is 5500 dollars. Duration is about 6-8 months. There are 24 assessments (not exams) and you go through them in the period of WBA. Then you will be entitled to apply for the general registration. Passing rate of WBA is more than 90%.

As you don't need to pass the difficult AMC Part2 Clinical Exam, WBA is an attractive option. Nevertheless, you have to secure a position in a hospital where WBA is taken place. Only doctors who are in those hospitals can try WBA. Therefore, the key is whether or nor you are employed by one of those hospitals.

General Registration: One Year Hospital Rotation

AMCのPart1とPart2に合格すること以外に、General Registration取得に必要な条件として、1年間（ 47週間）の病院ローテーション研修を行うことがあります。内科、外科、 救急の3つの核となる科目を含めた1年間のローテーション研修です。内科と外科の研修期間は最低でも10週間、救急の研修期間は最低でも8週間が必要です。残りの期間は自身の選択科目を研修します。実質的に、Standard PathwayでGeneral Registrationを目指している大概の外国人医師は、オーストラリアの病院で働きながらAMCのPart2を受験したりしてGeneral Registrationを目指していることが多いと思います。Part2を合格した時点で、この1年間の病院ローテーションが終了していたらすぐにGeneral Registrationが取得できますし、まだの場合は一時的にProvisional Registarationという医師登録を行い、病院ローテーションが終了したらすぐにGeneral Registrationが取得できます。病院にポジションがある限り、 1年間の病院研修は簡単にクリアできるでしょう。詳しくはAHPRAのウェブサイトを見てください。

Besides passing AMC Part1 and Part2, in order to get the general registration, you need to complete one year hospital rotation (47 weeks). This includes core departments rotation such as general medicine, surgery and emergency medicine. At lest 10 weeks for general medicine and surgey and 8 weeks for emergency medicine are required. The rest of time is allocated to elective departments. I believe most cases of overseas doctors challenging the standard pathway to get thte general registration proceed the preparation of AMC Part2 exam and this one year hosiptal rotation at the same time. If you have completed one year hospital rotation when you pass Part2, you can get the general registration straightaway. If not, you will be able to get what they call provisional registration and once you pass Part2, you can get the genera registration quickly. As long as you have a position in a hospital, this one year hospital rotation wouldn't be a big problem.
